I attended a seminar today, October 16 at our Conference Hall in Caloocan. It was conducted by our very charming and brilliant HR officer Ms Lhot and Ms. Arlene. (My DSL again was acting strange last night.)
It was about being a Top Performer and importance of importance Unity.
It was a very productive and fun filled day for all of us participants as we sing or dance our penalty away. We can choose either to sing or to dance once we commit a mistake. Me, I choose to sing an in un-comprehensible song. They were trying to understand my music which sounds like this: creek, crook, crack…
Seeing their quizzical look I told them that it was because the song is too old and the CD Player can read it anymore. The loud laughter follows.
It was about 3:00 pm when our seminar ended and we segued with Sales matter.
It was almost 6:40 PM when our meeting was adjourned and I have to rush home. I did not join the other in taking our free dinner.
Arriving at the terminal I could sense that I would have a hard time finding my ride home this time just by seeing a lot of people waiting also for the PUV’s.
I have spent almost 30 minutes of waiting until an empty PUJ arrive and stopped just in front of me. Must be my lucky day? The traffic seems to be in a standstill and people were very frustrated. I could hear heavy sighed, grumbling or protestation of my fellow passengers but cannot do anything.
Then I remember one of our topics earlier in our seminar about making our choices in our life. We could choose to “React” or to “Respond” in every given situation.
This time i would choose to respond. Instead of dozing off to sleep while the middle of un-moving vehicle, I take out my Ipod Touch and created this post.
I choose to use my time and be productive instead of complaining about the traffic. While at it I could hear the angry banging out loud of different sounds of cars and PUV’s horn. A lot of fellow passengers were looking on different direction trying to find what causes the heavy traffic.
I was almost finishing with this post when it was already end of the line of my ride. I arrive home about 9:15 P.M.
It was already more than an hour past my regular home time.
My wife, Melvin and Aian were patiently all waiting for me so we could eat our dinner together.
Thanks Ms. Lhot and Ms Arlene for telling us and reminding us that it is better to respond in a positive way in whatever situation we are in.
We make our own choices in every minute of our life and it is our choice if we want to be happy and productive or not.
