Waking up this morning at about 5:30 AM and upon opening the T.V. a sad news greeted me.
August 1,2009, Saturday at 3:18 this morning when former President Cory Aquino succumb to Cardio Respiratory arrest according to news report.
5:00AM when Senator Noynoy Aquino (Benigno Aquino III) gave the official statement of this very sad news according to breaking news while the replay is being shown. According to him, the family would issue an official statement about the details of the funeral service.
5:50 AM when Boy Abunda answers some media questions at the Makati Medical center.
Both channel 2 (ABS-CBN) and channel 7 (GMA) were carrying a live telecast of the event.
Cory Aquino, our former President was the most loved and most prayed person in this country rose from a former housemate to become a president and became an icon of democracy. She was the first female and our 11th president who was never involved in any political scandals or corruption.
She was 76 and was suffering from stage 4 colon cancer. May she rest in Peace.

This is really sad news, partner. I myself became a witness to her sorrow as a widow, to her success in leading the People Power back in 1986.
I just wish that the future generation will continue remembering her not only as a great leader but also as a caring mother of nation. Thus, learning that freedom can only be achieved if you we go hand in hand and with the same goal.

Oh, yes, Peoples power 1986. Who would ever forget. Me and my friends joined the thousand of people at EDSA, in front of Camp Crame we witness those helicopter that defected and landed inside the camp. But when tanks tried to move-in on Ortigas area, we ran just to see those tank out of curiosity.
She holds the distinction of being the most prayed for person if not in the Philippines perhaps the whole world.
