Singapore Trip 2

Friday July 10 we arrive at
Clark International airport at
about 2:00 PM. Too early
for our 10:00 PM flight.
Why?
My Boss Mr. Benito Siy was
on his way up North to
Dagupan City and he was kind
enough to let us hitch a
ride directly to the airport.
Thank you Boss.
It was also a good thing that
we arrive early because by 7:00 P.M. we were called to enter the immigration and by 8:00 PM
we are already boarding the plane. Two hours ahead of schedule.
We arrive at Singapore around 11:20 P.M..Our official ETA was
1:30 AM so we informed Tin not to bother fetching us at the airport.
While trying to find the taxi terminal one taxi stop in front of us unloading a passenger.
I Immediately talk to the driver if he could bring us to
our hotel. I gave him our reservation ticket that says Atrium Holiday inn.
He came out of his taxi and help us load our baggage at the back compartment of his taxi while telling me to inform airport personnel (if accosted) that we’re friends and he came to pick us up.
I just learned that it was illegal for them to pick up passenger. There’s taxi terminal for arriving passengers.
His name is Johnny and I introduced myself as Mon. His is my first friend in Singapore. This guy is very friendly to the point that he was encouraging me to use his cell phone to contact Tin or Rain (my wife’s niece) for free.
He even volunteered to dial the number. His phone? A Blackberry model.

Our ten minutes ride to our hotel cost us $23.30 so i handed him $50.00 . After receiving a $ 26.00 bills change I was about to alight when he told me to wait a minute because he’ll give me a receipt and at the same time counting a $0.70 coin change.

Oh my God! I now realized I’m really in Singapore with this very honest guy. Compared with our Taxi driver who would give you all excesses for you to give them extra payment or they don’t have enough change to run away with your hard earned money.
